Israeli maneuvers in Negev

Originally published

The Israeli army carried out maneuvers in a military base in Negev desert, attended by land forces and F-16 planes.

The maneuvers showed new exercises on fighting inside the cities, in parallel to the old Israeli practices on fighting, and the Israeli forces destroyed "Syrian fortifications" before the occupation of a Palestinian town in which a tableau was raised showing the Palestinian President smiling.

The Israeli land forces commander Yaftah Ron said during the four years of the Palestinian Intifada, with most of it in populated towns and refugees camps, it became evident for the Israeli army to develop new tactics on the war inside cities. He added "you have seen the skills and tactics which were not there four years before." He continued that the new experience and technology have allowed the armored land engineering, field intelligence and air forces to work as a harmonized team in the military preparedness area.
