ESCWA's executive director's visit aims at bolstering cooperation with Syria

The UN Under Secretary General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Committee for Western Asia ( ESCWA ), Dr. Mervat Tallawy told reporters in a news conference after a meeting with President Bashar al-Assad wounding up a two-day official visit to Syria that President al-Assad works seriously to promote the administration performance, human resources, sciences, technology, poverty, unemployment, and upgrading women situation.

Tallawy added that her visit to Syria aims at bolstering existing cooperation between Syria and the ESCWA in the fields of training, providing technical services. She said the next ESCWA meeting would be hold in Damascus.
