Libya al-Zahaf al-Akhdar resumes publication after suspension because of al-Sader case

Originally published

The Libyan daily al-Zahf al-Akhdar resumed publication yesterday with a new editor in chief after two weeks of suspension over criticizing the speaker of the Lebanese parliament Nabih Berri and the secretary of the Hizbullah party Hassan Nasrullah on the background of the issue of the disappearance of Lebanese Imam, Mousa al-Sader, in Libya 1978.

The "Libyan revolutionary court" had banned the paper, the mouthpiece of the "revolutionary committees" from publication on October 13, considering that its articles damaged the Libyan national interest and the relations with several Arab states and that it does not reflect the correct media policy in the country.

The paper said that Abdul Qader al-Hudeiri replaced Muhammad Khalaf Allah as a chief editor, giving no further details.

On the other hand, Libya renewed demands of Italy, the former colonialist force, of financial compensations over damages inflicted during the colonialist era. This was on the anniversary of expelling 5,000 Libyans to Italy and on this occasion Libya cut all communications with the outside world on Sunday.
