Al-Sharq al-Awsat: On the meeting of the central command of the Syrian NPF

The London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat said yesterday said that observer representatives for other national parties, such as the Syrian national socialist party whose political bureau in Syria is chaired by Issam al-Maheyri, and the democratic Arab federation party which is led by Hassan Abdul Azeem, will take part in the second joint meeting between the central command of the National Progressive Front ( NPF) and its branches all over the Syrian governorates which will start today in Damascus.

The paper quoted the secretary of the political bureau of the Syrian National Socialist party in Syria, lawyer Joseph Sweid, saying that it is the second time in which an invitation is extended to the party to take part in the conference and it will be represented by a delegation chaired by the political bureau in Syria, Issam al-Maheyri.

Sweid described the initiative of the Syrian political leadership to inviting his party to take part in the conference as confirming the inclination of this leadership towards inviting all effective political forces in society to get involved in the political life so as to meet the real democratic concept inspired by the march of development and progress, launched by President Bashar al-Assad.
