Iraq agrees to resume wheat imports from Australia

Originally published

Iraq on Sunday approved to resume its imports of the Australian wheat, temporarily. News reports quoted the Australian Wheat Board as saying that Iraq agreed to implement contracts estimated at a value of 110 million dollars, while a deal at a cost of 800 million annually is still uncertain.

Iraq had reduced its imports of the Australian wheat by half in July and warned that the Iraqi imports will not be resumed in full except when the Australian government stops supporting the American military position against Iraq.
