Arafat discusses with Fischer, Solana latest developments in Palestinian territories

Chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat on Monday discussed with the German foreign minister Yushla Fischer and the higher representative for foreign policy and security at the European Union Javier Solana discussed latest conditions in the Palestinian territories amid the Israeli military escalation against the Palestinian people.

Arafat's advisor Nabil Abu Rudinah said that Arafat also discussed with each of Fischer and Solana in telephone calls made on Monday the international efforts exerted for the restoration of stability and calm, and the resumption of negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, especially with the rapprochement of the return of the American envoy Antony Zioni who will be arriving in the region on Thursday.
