Czech interior minister confers with Arab ambassadors

Originally published

The Czech minister of the Interior on Monday in Prague met with a delegation representing Arab ambassadors and heads of Arab diplomatic missions in the Czech republic.

Members of the delegation expressed their concern over the possibility that members of the Arab and Muslim community in the Czech are harassed due to the implications of the attack against the US in September. They also expressed their regret to the campaigns launched by the Czech media in mixing between Islam and terrorism and distorting the image of Arabs and Muslims.

The Czech minister of the Interior said he is against comparing Arabs and Muslims to terrorists and rejects the principle of stereotyping.

He promised the Arab ambassadors delegation that the specialize authorities in the Czech will continue to deal with members of the Arab community residents in his country according to enforced regulations.
