Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt hold telephone conversation

Originally published

The Jordanian official news agency "Petra" has reported that a telephone call was made on Wednesday between the Jordanian King Abdullah II and the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in the framework of consultation and coordination between the two leaders regarding conditions in the Palestinian territories.

Mubarak also made a telephone call with the Saudi crown prince Abdullah. This is, however, the second telephone call between the Jordanian King and the Egyptian President during the past three days. The agency explained that the two leaders " exchanged view points on political moves to end the acts of violence and the sufferings imposed on the Palestinians and to reset the ME peace process into its right track." On Tuesday, the Jordanian Prime Minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb said that his country is waiting for the reply of the Israeli government to the Jordanian- Egyptian ideas to halt the Israeli violence in the Palestinian territories.

Meantime, the Egyptian President made a telephone called with the Saudi crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz during which the two sides reviewed latest developments in the region, following the Israeli escalation and practices against the Arab territories.
