Shura Council condemns Israeli bombing of Syrian radar station in Lebanon
The Shura Council Tuesday condemned in a statement Israel's bombing of a Syrian radar station in Lebanon early on Monday.
The council considered such Israeli measure as a serious escalation of the already-tense situation in the region.
Israel has to realize that as long as part of Lebanese territories and Syria's Golan Heights remain under its control, the Lebanese resistance has the right to continue anti-Israel operations and Syria has also the same right to follow up what it deems necessary in order to liberate its lands, the statement added.
The statement called on Israel to immediately end its acts of violence which, it said, would breed more violence.
The Council stressed that it would stand by the Lebanese and Syrian peoples in face of the arrogant Israeli policies which would not affect Arab determination to restore their usurped right.
On the other hand, Central Committee supervising the Shura Council's elections held a meeting yesterday under chairmanship of Attorney-General Counsellor Maher Abdul Wahid with minister of Justice Farouk Seif Al-Nasr and Judiciary Authorities Secretaries attending.
On his part, Seif al-Nasr said that the committee had examined judiciary supervision process, and it stressed the necessity of adopting positive points, avoiding negative aspects and ironing out all obstacles.
In the course of the coming elections, Minister of the Interior Habib Al-Adly issued a decision to start receiving candidacy applications in the mid-term elections of the Shura Council as of Tuesday till next Monday.
