Parliament starts spring session

Originally published

The Moroccan parliament opened Friday its spring session. Under Article 40 of the Moroccan Constitution, the House of Representatives' legislative years is divided into two sessions: a fall session, opened by the King on the first Friday of October, while the fall session starts on the second Friday of April.

Morocco has a bicameral system: a 325-seat house of representatives, fully elected at the direct universal suffrage, and a 270-seat chamber of advisers, elected by three colleges of voters (trade unions, local councils and professional chambers).
