Morocco has donated Mozambique about $ 150,000 in assistance to quake victims, reports Mozambique's news agency "AIM."

Morocco's ambassador to Maputo, Abdellatif Nacif, who handed over the donation to the National Catastrophe-Management Institute said the gesture marks Morocco's solidarity with the Mozambican people. It is also aimed at consolidation friendship and cooperation bonds between the two African countries.

The aid will help support humanitarian operations in the four quake-hit provinces, Manica, Sofala, Tete and Zambezia.

Mozambique has received a total of $ 15 million after the authorities launched an emergency appeal last February for $ 36.5 million.
