Thai national gets 15 years prison for faking Moroccan banknotes
Cheng-Cheing Chis Shiung, a Thai national arrested in 1999 for possession of faked money, was sentenced on Monday by the Casablanca court of appeal to 15 years in prison.
The man was arrested as he was trying to pay for a toothbrush with a faked banknote of 200 DH (about $ 20). He was possessing 60 other banknotes of the same amount.
The culprit told investigators he had obtained the banknotes in the USA where he exchanged American dollars and did not know it was fake money, MAP reported.
