the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian areas has been escalated by land, sea and air.

The Israeli forces on Tuesday started an intensive bombardment since early hours of the day at Gaza and Rafah areas, including a Palestinian security position and a position for the naval police to the north of Gaza and an intelligence center in Deir al-Balah. The bombardment resulted in killing the Palestinian doctor Wael Khweiter and wounding of other 17 Palestinian civilian and military-men, many of them in critical conditions.

The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon who supervised this bombardment said that Israel proceeds its policy which aims at oppressing the Intifada and will not be confined to intermediate solutions, noting that he had told the US secretary of state Colin Powell that the Palestinian authority does not do anything to limit the escalation of the Intifada.

Sharon denied to have submitted an apology for the aggression which targeted the Palestinian security officials last week. He said:" The Israeli army continues taking strong military measures to strike the Palestinians and tighten the military and economic siege measures."

The Israeli foreign minister Shemon Peres said that settlement and expanding the current settlements and ensuring the requirements of the settlers are the priorities of his government, adding that there is no way to violate the red lines set by his government to overcome the Intifada and ensure security and military support for the settlers.

Meantime, the chairman of the Israeli " Mifdal" party called on the army and the settlers to continue chasing the Palestinians, killing them and destroy their properties.

On the other hand, Israeli settlers on Tuesday tried to enter al-Aqsa mosque in a new provocative step to humiliate the feelings of Muslims. To this effect, the chief of staff in the Israeli army Moshe Ketsaf said that Israel will not give up its sovereignty over al-Aqsa mosque for any side and that it will proceed deterring the Palestinians and establishing settlements.

The Israeli daily Haartez said that the occupation authorities intend to build 5000 units in the settlements of the West Bank during this year after it had confiscated 2800 pieces of lands suitable for building.
