Morocco - Palestine ties, Strategic, Shaat
Relations between Morocco and Palestine are strategic and solid, Palestinian planning and international cooperation minister, Nabil Shaat, said Wednesday.
Palestine takes into account these strategic ties with Morocco in its relations with Europe, the USA and the Arab states, the official told the Moroccan first TV channel TVM.
He announced that Palestinian President Yasser Arafat will visit Morocco shortly, without giving details on the objective of the visit.
Shaat underlined that Morocco has always played a vanguard role in backing the Palestinian cause. He recalled, in this connection, that the Late King Hassan II was behind the creation of the Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Committee to serve the Palestinian cause in general and the cause of Al-Quds Asharif in particular.
