French MPs delegation hears Tindouf survivors testimonies
A French parliamentary delegation of the Rally For the Republic (RPR) met here end of the week with survivors of Tindouf camps and heard their testimonies on the inhuman ordeal of Moroccans sequestered in the camps.
Men and women who fled the hell of the camps said how separatists used intimidation and detention to silence opposition and attempts to denounce the policy of Polisario leadership to pile up wealth at the expenses of sufferings of people detained.
They described atrocious treatment and inhuman incarceration they have suffered in the camps of shame and handed visitors files on the daily and systematic repression and abuse in the camps which spare neither the elderly, nor women and children.
Head of the French delegation Richard Casenave, chairman of the human rights study group at the National Assembly, said Morocco could invoke human rights criteria in force worldwide to require from the international community serious scrutiny of the "intolerable situation" of people detained in Tindouf.
Delegation members voiced concern at the situation and readiness to promote awareness about the issue in public opinion, European institutions and worldwide.
