UNHCR Ogata satisfied with cooperation with Morocco

Originally published

The United Nations High outgoing Commissioner for Refugees Sadako Ogata voiced satisfaction at cooperation relations between Morocco and her organization.

Morocco has always made the HCR mission easier and backed its humanitarian actions, Ogata told MAP on the sides of the presentation Monday of the HCR report on "Refugees in the world."

She depicted as "deplorable and a matter of "concern" the situation of populations in Tindouf camps saying HCR will carry on efforts within the UN peace plan in the Sahara to facilitate its execution which requires the mobilizing of heavy resources and logistics.

The report presented deplores ever-deteriorating situation of Sahrawis in Tindouf camps with malnutrition, increasing child-diseases and bad drinking-water. While the populations are mostly depending on international aid, the humanitarian situation is rapidly worsening, the report said.
