Arab group at UNESCO insists comprehensive and lasting peace in middle east depends on Jerusalem's fate

Originally published

The Arab group at the UNESCO insisted Wednesday that the success of the Middle East peace process depends on the fate of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) city.

A comprehensive and lasting peace is tied to the fate of the city, which should be conform to international legality and to the wishes of peoples, they said as UNESCO marks Al-Quds Day on September 26 with a series of events at the French capital.

The commemoration of Al-Quds Day is for us an opportunity to renew that all measures to extend settlements and to obliterate the city's Arab and Islamic identity are serious dangers to the peace process, said Arab diplomats.
