Lebanese security forces detained two armed Palestinians
Syria-Palestine, Politics, 10/8/2005

Al-Jazeera satellite TV said that the Lebanese security forces arrested two gunmen from the People's Front For Liberation of Palestine- General Command in the Yanta area near the Syrian borders.

This was after the Lebanese army intensified its presence around the Palestinian camps in precaution of what it said attempts of Israeli forces likely to land there.

In this regard, the leader of the Fatah movement in Lebanon, Sultan Abu al-Einin, said that the Palestinians announced the state of alert in the Palestinian camps in coincidence with the measure taken by the Lebanese army leadership around the camps.

In a statement from al-Rashedeyah camp in Sidon, in south Lebanon, Abu al-Einin explained "it is not logical to continue sleeping when we hear that the state is taking measures to defend the Palestinians."
