Russian foreign ministry and President al-Assad's visit to Moscow

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Alexander Yakovenko on Friday denied Israeli claims on Russian missiles deal to Syria, adding that Russia is committed to the international accords regarding the sale of weapons.
He underlined importance of President Bashar al-Assad's visit to Russia, indicating that during the visit a number of economic agreements will be signed in the interest of the two countries.
"Syria plays an important and pivotal role in the Middle East, and it is very important to resume peace negotiations on the Syrian track to achieve the comprehensive peace in the region," Yakovenko said in a statement to Russian Interfax News Agency.
He criticized the US accusations launched against a number of countries, stressing that those accusations harm the world security.
Meantime, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Duma Assembly Sergey Baburin on Friday underlined the importance of President Bashar al-Assad's visit to Russia in strengthening friendship relations between Damascus and Moscow.
In a statement to SANA in Moscow, Baburin called for activating cooperation and communication between the two countries in all fields, particularly in the parliamentary field.
Russian President Advisor Aslambek Aslakhanov, for his part, said talks between Presidents Assad and Putin will be positive and constructive in the interest of the two countries.
"The most important aim of this visit is to strengthen relations between Syria and Russia, and it will give a great momentum to the bilateral relations in all fields," Aslakhanov told SANA.
