Al-Assad meets grand national assembly's speaker in Ankara

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad and Turkish Grand National Assembly's Speaker, Bulent Ecerit, held Tuesday a meeting at the Turkish Parliament headquarter in Ankara that dealth with bilateral relations, particularly the parliamentary ones, and activating the parliamentary and public committees, and visit exchanges.

The meeting was attended by the official delegation accompanying al-Assad, Turkish Foreign Trade Minister and the Chief of Protocol, Kursad Tuzmen, and a number of Turkish MPs.

At the end of the meeting, President al-Assad participated in a part of a session which the Turkish Parliament was convening.

President Bashar al-Assad received in Ankara at his residence on Tuesday Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Present at the meeting were Syria's Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara, Tourism Minister Saad Allah Agha al-Kalaa, Syrian Ambassador in Ankara and Turkish Foreign Trade Minister and the Chief of Protocol, Kursad Tuzmen.

Later, President Assad and Erdogan held a bilateral meeting. Talks during the meeting dealt with the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing and strengthening them.

Talks also tackled the current situation on the regional and international arenas, particularly in the occupied Palestinian territories and Iraq.Viewpoints were said to be similar vis-a-vis the issues discussed.
