- Sharon responds to Ben Ali's invitation to visit Tunisia
One official in the office of the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon said that the prime minister agreed to the invitation extended to him by the Tunisian President Zine al-Abidin Ben Ali to visit Tunisia. The "International bourse organization for the freedom of expression" called on the Tunisian government to release the chief editor of the Tunisian weekly al-Fajer( dawn) Hammadi Jabali and hundreds of detainees because of their religious and political beliefs, who never resorted to violence or advocated it.
