The Sudanese government announced yesterday that it will send a delegation to the third round of Mashakos negotiations with the rebels on January 22, after it had received assertions that the negotiations will be resumed from the point they were stopped at. The Sudanese government stuck to its position concerning the agenda of peace negotiations which were due to be resumed yesterday in Kenya, by refusing demands raised by the the rebels and the mediators on negotiating on the future of the three "margined" areas, namely al-Nouba, Eibi and the south of the Blue Nile. This position by the Sudanese government raised speculation that the session was postponed indefinitely. Doubts overwhelmed the question of resuming the Sudanese peace negotiations in Kenya which the southern Sudanese rebels announced will be resumed tomorrow, while Khartoum refused to take part if the negotiations will be dedicated to the issue of the three "margined" central areas, the rebels want to have.
