- Al-Qaddafi approves Libya's participation in Beirut's Arab summit
Libyan President Muammar al-Qaddafi has approved the convening of the next Arab summit in their due time and place. The French Foreign minister Hubert Vedrine will pay a visit to Libya during February to preside over his country's delegation to the meetings of the Libyan- French joint committee which will be held in Tripoli to discuss means of supporting cooperation between the two countries in all fields. Libya's permanent representative at the Arab League Abdul Menem al-Houni has stressed his country's position towards transferring the forthcoming Arab summit from Beirut to Cairo due to divisions in the lines of the Lebanese government towards the convening of this summit.
