- Mining sector sales up by 6.7 percent during three first months of 2002
The sales of the mining sector in Morocco, including phosphates and other processed mining products was worth 4.95 billion Dirhams (nearly US$ 450 million) during the first three months of 2002 compared to 4.64 billion DH during the same period in 2001, i.e. an increase of 6.7 percent. The Japanese daily Sankei Shimbun said that US President George Bush has urged Japan to meet a request raised by Jordan to exempt it from official development loans estimated at 170 billion Japanese Yen ( USD 1.4 billion) and also to increase the Japanese donation aid provided to Jordan.
