Israel to contain SLA

Israel Radio said on Sunday that the Israeli general security system has studied all aspects connected to containing all members of the South Lebanese Army (SLA) militia in or outside Israel after the Israeli army's withdrawal from south Lebanon

The radio report added that among the ideas debated were the possibility of renting apartments to members of the SLA in northern Israel.

Meanwhile, an Israeli security source said that any peace agreement will ensure that members of the SLA get to stay in their houses.

The source stressed that Israel intends to crystallize an agreement that ensures the safety of SLA members inside the security area, adding that the SLA expressed their satisfaction over the recent developments in the negotiations with Syria.
