Albright describes resumption of peace talks as historic
US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said that the resumption of peace talks on the Syrian- Israeli track on Wednesday in Washington would be a historic opportunity for peace in the region.
AFP quoted Albright as saying in a statement to the SBS TV network that she hopes that the negotiations would fix a timetable of reaching an agreement. She added that it is natural to have other talks. She also hinted that the establishment of peace in the Middle East will be welcomed by all.
She added that the US will play an impartial role, "but the parties concerned have to take decisions by themselves."
