Kenyan mediation between Sudan and Uganda

Originally published

Kenya is heading a new mediation to contain deep conflicts between its two neighbors, Sudan and Uganda, as Sudanese President Omar Hassan El-Bashir is to meet with his Ugandan counterpart, Yoweri Museveni, in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

The Sudanese and Ugandan governments have been involved in a diplomatic conflict and a boycott since 1992, as they have exchanged accusations of supporting the opposition.

Finally, Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi received the consent of the Ugandan and Sudanese presidents to meet today in Nairobi to hold a round of bilateral negotiations to contain a diplomatic boycott and deep conflicts between the countries.
