Israeli fears over deteriorated conditions with Jordan
Political sources at the Israeli Foreign Ministry have expressed their fears of the deterioration of the Israeli-Jordanian relations on the background of boycotts pursued by various Jordanian vocational trade unions, especially the journalists union and bar association, which both call for halting Jordan's normalization with Israel.
In a report highlighted by Israel Radio on Monday, the sources said the Jordanian public opinion has recently started talking negatively about relations with Israel, accusing Jordan's King Abdullah of not being ready to confront these trade unions, which oppose normalization with Israel,on the contrary to what had been done by King Hussein and then-Crown Prince Hassan Bin Talal, who encouraged the consolidation of Jordanian-Israeli relations.
The Israeli sources indicated the unease shown by Israel toward the Jordanian anti normalization attitude, saying, "What is taking place is not encouraging."
