Prizes of Cairo cinema festival to be announced today

The concluding party for the 23rd session of the Cairo International Film Festival will be held tonight at 7 o'clock at the Egyptian Opera house.

French director Yves Biosser, head of the arbitration committee of the formal competition, will announce the winners of the prizes which include the golden pyramid for the best film, the silver pyramid, the prize of the special arbitration committee, prizes for the best script best director, best actor and actress and artistic innovation, in addition to the best Arabic movie that has been given by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture in two years.

14 films from 11 countries are competing on the prizes after excluding two films from China and the Philippine, the first for its participation in a Russian festival and the second for the non-arrival of copy in Cairo.

The French actress Caterine Deneuve will be honored by granting her an award for her achievements in the cinema.
