Jordan's king addresses message to Jordanian journalists

Originally published

Jordan's King Abdullah II stated that press freedom must not be employed in a way that abuses Jordan's image, its sacrifices and the efforts it exerts to solve its problems, Jordan's relations with its Arab brothers and friends from other countries, or national unity.

In his message addressed yesterday to Jordanian journalists before he began a foreign tour, King Abdullah II said, "The Jordanian state's resolutions were still out of its persuasion and its perception of its good and the Arab nation's, which it belongs to, adhering to defending its causes, topped by the Palestinian cause."

King Abdullah II added, "The press must be based on facts and objectivity away from personal aspects, doubting and personal insults, which contradict with press and the society's values and customs."
