UN approves Iraqi request for medicines
The UN has approved an Iraqi delivery of 57 French trucks to transport vaccines and medicines, according to the oil-for-food program.
A statement by the UN released in Baghdad on Wednesday said the UN Sanctions Committee had frozen the Iraq request and is still freezing another 55 for similar trucks, produced in Spain.
The statement, which was released by the Spanish humanitarian office of the UN, said these trucks are necessary to transport vaccines, blood byproducts and other medicines which are affected by heat. These medicines include Insulin.
