Arab consultations prior to AL council's 112th session

Originally published

The general secretariat of the Arab League on Wednesday carried out a series of consultations with certain Arab states -- especially with Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia -- centered on items scheduled on the agenda of the 112th session of the Arab League due to be held on Sunday and Monday under the chairmanship of Iraq.

AL sources said that nine Arab states have asserted their official participation in the session. They are Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Palestine, Sudan, Qatar and Iraq on the level of the foreign ministers and the United Arab Emirates on the level of the ministry secretary.

The sources added that AL chief Esmat Abdul Meguid received assertions from the foreign ministers of Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Libya that they would attend the next AL session, therefore the number of states which will be represented at the level of foreign ministers will reach 12.
