The first Arab international regional conference for electronic trade is to be held on September 1 at the Bristol Hotel in Beirut.

The conference will last for two days.

Katia Tayar, the organizer of the conference, said that in addition to the great and quick development of electronic trade all over the world, there is a real and important chance through the electronic market to contribute in a good way to boosting the national economy, which opens the way for a large number of medium-sized and small corporations to competition in international markets at a very small cost.

She added, "We have to enter the battle of convincing the economic society in its all categories to take part in the conference," which is aimed at rescuing the Lebanese and Arab economies through the trade chances available on the Internet.

Ministeries, unions, governments, tourism, industrial, banking and commercial corporations are to take part in the conference.

The conference will discuss the issues of electronic trade in Lebanon, the positives of technology in upgrading the economy and safe methods of electronic trade.
