Syrian, Lebanese officials meet on social insurance

The board of directors of Syria's General Establishment for Social Insurance and the board of directors of the Lebanese National Fund for Social Insurance concluded their meetings in Damascus on Monday.

The two sides agreed to follow up meetings between the two establishments to achieve more cooperation and coordination in the area of social insurance and offer the necessary insurance services to workers in Syria and Lebanon.

Chaired by head of the board of directors of the General Establishment of Social Insurance, Kehtan al-Seyoufi, and the chairman of the board of directors of the Lebanese National Fund for Social Insurance, Jamil Abu Nasr, the two sides held a meeting during which they reviewed Syrian and Lebanese experiences in this area.

In a statement to SANA, al-Seyoufi said these meetings constitute an important cooperation and coordination between the two states in the area of social insurance on the basis of cooperating the efforts of the three production parties -- workers, employers and the government -- within the framework of social partnership to achieve stability among the insured workers and their families at the present and in the future.
