Iraq calls on the UN to halt US, British raids

Iraq has stated that it will continue to confront the US and British raids which on Monday claimed the lives of two persons and wounded a third.

Meanwhile, Baghdad on Tuesday sent an objection to the UN committee on human rights over the deliberate killing of innocent Iraqi people by these planes.

In a message to the committee, the Iraqi National Council said, "London and Washington are committing crimes against humanity by bombarding civilian areas."

The message called on the UN to take an urgent step in order to halt these attacks against the Iraqi civilians and to pay compensation for losses inflicted as a result of the British and US bombardment.
