Egyptian - Israeli talks to settle El Al plane problem
The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority is due to hold talks with Israeli civil aviation officials to settle the crisis between Israel and Egypt last week due to Israeli planes crossing through Egyptian airspace without permission, coming from Tel Aviv.
Abraham Shahi, the head of the Israeli Civil Aviation Authority arrived in Cairo yesterday, leading a delegation to hold talks with Egyptian officials to discuss the regulation of aviation between Egypt and Israel according to the laws of civil aviation.
Israel claimed that the Egyptian aviation authorities have prevented the planes of the Israeli airline, El Al, to cross through Egyptian airspace, where the some of El Al planes were made to return to Israel.
In reply to the Israeli claims, the Egyptian authorities accused the Israelis of insisting on crossing through Egyptian airspace without prior permission, although the Egyptian authorities spoke more than one time to Israel of El Al planes' attempts to breach the laws of civil aviation that call for obtaining prior permission to pass.
