Iraq refuses US donation for hospitals

Originally published

Baghdad on Monday refused an American donation of US $1 million for Iraqi hospitals.

Iraqi dailies asked whether US $1 million which will be offered by Washington to the International Red Cross is simply a way to comfort the US conscience or the price paid by the US administration to "silence the voices of rejection in the world in the crime the US has been committing since nine years in exterminating human nature."

They asked if the US is careful for the Iraqi children why then it is persistent to kill from them every month at least 6,000 children under the age of five.

Last Friday, the US said it will offer US $1 million for a program in charge of rehabilitating the Iraqi hospitals following the release of UNICEF's report which read that the mortality rate among Iraqi children has doubled since 1991 and that half a million Iraqi children have died before reaching the age of five.
