Discussion between emir of Qatar, Lebanese president

Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad Ben Khalifa al-Thani said after his arrival in Beirut and meeting with Lebanese President Emile Lahoud that the visit comes out of Qatar's strong adherence to resuming meetings and communications to exchange opinions and consultations on all matters of concern to both countries and to the Arab nation in the efforts exerted to restore unity to Arab efforts and revive Arab solidarity.

The emir said, "The Arab nation needs these meetings, especially in these critical circumstances through which Middle East passes in its direction toward ratifying the final peace."

Lahoud said, "The visit comes within supporting the Lebanese - Qatari retaliations and confirming adherence to the national issues as well as the supreme interests of the Arab nations."
