Morocco cuts special phone services tariffs
Morocco' state-owned telecom operator "Ittisalat Al-Maghreb" has decided to cut by 50% the tarrifs on special phoning services.
The services concerned include limited access to the national or international network and coded calls.
Last month, the Moroccan telecom lowered by 30% phone tariffs and mobile phone subscription fees after its net profits rose.
Reducing phoning prices is part of the Moroccan telecom company strategy to increase the number of its clients, build a strong marketing image and offer competitive services.
Morocco, a nation of 28 million inhabitants, counts around 1.5 mln phone subscribers and over 500,000 mobile phone users.
The North African country, which is determined to go forward in the liberalization of its telecom sector, is planning to sell up to 40% of the capital of "Ittisalat Al-Maghreb" for around one billion USD.
