Israel destroys construction site of mosque in Jerusalem
Israeli authorities in the city of Jerusalem have ordered the destruction of a construction site of a mosque in the Arab quarter of Ras Al-Amoud in the eastern part of the city.
The authorities claimed the usual pretext of unauthorized construction to justify the decision.
On June 22, the Israeli authorities destroyed a Palestinian house in the city, for the same reasons.
Meanwhile an ultra-nationalist Jewish association has started in the same quarter the construction of a new Jewish settlement.
Financed by a Jewish tycoon, the settlement comprises 133 houses.
