Palestinians warns of Barak's declarations regarding settlements in Jerusalem

The Palestinian government warned of declarations made by Israeli Prime Minister-elect Ehud Barak regarding continuing settlements in Jerusalem.

The government said Barak's "subjection to the settlers' blackmail threatens the peace process, which could return to the zero point if the Israeli activities continue."

The secretary general of the Palestinian Cabinet, Ahmed Abd El-Rahman, expressed his hope that "the Israeli party's" declarations regarding Barak's consent about continuing settlements projects in Jerusalem and Jabal Abu Ghneim will turn out to be untrue and do not reflect the new government's policy.
