The secretary general of the Sudanese Ministry of Information and Culture, Abass Ibrahim, hailed the role of Egypt and President Mubarak in achieving national reconciliation and maintaining Sudan's unity and the safety of its lands.

Following his arrival in Cairo late last night for a visit to Egypt, Ibrahim expressed his hope to restore relations between the two countries once more as they were before.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa described his meeting yesterday with his Sudanese counterpart, Mustafa Othman Ismael, as positive and important, specifically after the visit of the latter to European countries last month.

In a joint press conference with the Sudanese minister after prolonged talks, Moussa said that there are many important matters that should be consulted with the Sudanese government and other Sudanese parties.
