Originally published

The April Understanding Monitoring Committee on Tuesday met at the Lebanese border town of al-Naqoura to discuss Lebanese and Israeli complaints.

Members of the committee discussed some 15 complaints lodged by Lebanon against Israel for its violation of the understanding in terms of shelling populated areas in the Lebanese towns of Barachit, Toulin, Hadatha, Jarjou, Jebaal Nabatieh Fouka and Arab Salem.

The committee also discussed five complaints by Israel, who alleged that Lebanese resistance fighters attacked the occupation forces from populated areas.

Tuesday's meeting was chaired by the French delegate to the committee, ambassador Jane Rabane, who is heading the committee for six months following the term of the American delegate.
