Israel blamed for violating understanding provisions
The April Understanding Monitoring Committee has held Israel responsible for violating its items which ban launching attacks against civilians and targeting residential areas in military operations.
In a statement released following its meeting which continued since Tuesday afternoon, the committee said that Israel and its allies (in reference to the pro-Israeli South Lebanon Army militia) violated the provisions of the understanding by bombarding Arab Salim town in al-Tuffah district by tank artillery on May 6.
The committee indicated that Israel violated this understanding through the raid launched by its warplanes against al-Qalilah town in the western sector of south Lebanon, which resulted in destroying houses at the same time.
The committee also held Israel and its allies responsible for bombarding the town of Barachit and for damaging four houses in the town.
