80,000 Sudanese students start military training
The Sudanese government started a training campaign for thousands of high school students who are expected to be sent to areas where the government's forces are fighting against rebels in southern Sudan.
Khartoum radio broadcast yesterday that 80,000 students headed to military training camps. Sudanese law imposes military training on students of high schools for at least 18 months, otherwise they are not allowed to study at universities.
