Portuguese foreign minister to visit Egypt on April 28

Portuguese Foreign Minister Jaime Gama is to visit Egypt officially on April 28, during which he will meet with Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa. Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Fathi El-Shazeli said, "Portugal is getting ready for the chairmanship of the European Union in the first half of the year 2000, which gives an importance to this visit."

He added, "The discussions will tackle the European - Mediterranean partnership and developing bilateral relations."
