UN to submit revised protocols on referendum for signature
The revised protocols related to the identification of potential voters in the UN-projected referendum in the Sahara and to the procedure for applicants to lodge appeals will be submitted to Morocco and the Polisario this week.
The two parties will also be submitted a time-table of the referendum coming stages after the UN secretary general, Kofi Annan, has completed them, said Annan's spokesman, Fred Eckhard.
In the perspective of the resuming of the identification process and the start of the appeals procedure by next June or July, UN assistant-secretary general for peace-keeping operations, Bernard Miyet, will meet the Polisario representative this Tuesday, and Moroccan authorities on Wednesday.
