French prime minister to visit Cairo in May

French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin is to arrive on Cairo on May 1 at the head of a delegation comprising 180 businessmen, including leaders of French companies, to take part in inaugurating the French fair "Expo France '99" held in Cairo, on May 2-9 at the Cairo International Conference Center.

The French ambassador in Cairo, Jean Marc De La Sabliere, said in a phone conversation with ArabicNews.com that Expo France '99 is a rare event and that his country has not held this event outside Europe in 70 years.

The fair comprises technical, cultural and trade activities, as well as fashion shows.

Moreover, the fair includes a wing specialized for Egyptian companies who wish to obtain contracts in the French market.
