Joint Arab Gulf project to treat petrochemical waste
A Saudi industrial source has asserted that the Gulf Cooperation Council states are currently embarking on studying a joint Arab Gulf project to treat wastes resulting from the petrochemical and chemical fertilizers factories in the GCC member states.
The Saudi source added that several Arab Gulf businessmen and industrialists working in the area of petrochemicals and fertilizers discussed during a meeting they held recently in Bahrain the mechanism and means of providing this project success. The sources noted that all the participants in the meeting approved the project concerning trade and environmental aspects.
The GCC general secretariat has assigned the Gulf organization for industrial consultations with the charge of preparing the feasibility study for the project and for promoting it in collaboration with the GCC federation of chambers of commerce.
