Khatami to visit Riyadh following pilgrimage

Iranian President Mohammed Khatami will head to Saudi Arabia after the end of the Haj pilgrimage, and he sent a communique to Saudi King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz in this regard.

Iranian - Gulf relations are witnessing a great improvement, but Iran's occupation of three Gulf islands whose sovereignty is subject of a dispute with the United Arab Emirates greatly obstructs these relations.
